Congressman Farenthold’s Office Organizes Job Fair for Shrimping Industry
PALACIOS, Texas – Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) is helping shrimpers fill vacant jobs by organizing a job fair. The shrimping industry has an immediate need to fill dozens of jobs in the Palacios area.

Background on the Shrimping Industry: In the past, the shrimping industry relied on H2B visas to hire foreign workers for seasonal shrimping jobs. In an effort to fill these jobs with Americans and due to a high demand for H2B visas, Congressman Farenthold’s office partnered with Workforce Solutions, the navigation district, and local shrimpers in an effort to find American workers for these jobs.
